OK Sheriff’s Office Grant Program Giving Assistance to All 77 Counties

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced Wednesday that all 77 counties which applied for the new Oklahoma Sheriff’s Office Funding Assistance Grant Program will receive awards.

The Legislature created the program during this year’s session and appropriated $18 million for the grants. They can be used for operations including, but not limited to training, technology, equipment, capital improvements. Drummond’s office is managing the grant program.

The grants range from $150,000 to $300,000. The amount depends on the county’s total tangible property valuation.

“This funding to all 77 counties will help sheriff’s offices statewide strengthen their operations and enhance public safety,” Drummond said. “I appreciate the work of the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association in helping to ensure all counties receive support.”
